BPBD: Basic Needs for Fire Survivors are Still Fulfilled

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) continues to ensure that basic needs are met for the survivors of the fire at the Pertamina Plumpang Depot fuel tank, North Jakarta.

Our target is children and elderly

Jakarta BPBD Acting Head, M Ridwan expressed that until now his party keeps coordinating with the Rawa Badak Selatan Urban Village in handling and distributing assistance to fire survivors, thus the assistance is right on target to those in need.

"Our target is children and elderly. We have family kit, pampers, prayer kits, toiletries, and so on," he expressed, Tuesday (3/7).

Every day, his party deploys 50 personnel to help residents starting from the evacuation process, providing basic needs, and other processes for the survivors.

"We want people to feel the government's presence in this disaster," he explained.

He urged residents can always be alert to the potential for fires and other disasters.

"BPBD synergizes with the Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) to continue to provide education and outreach regarding handling fires or other natural disasters," he stated.
